Thank you for taking the time to try Arches, I really appreciate it.
There should be stairs on every floor but sometimes they are hidden one square around a corner that requires a turn to be able to see it. The next version of the game there will be an indication on the minimap once the stairs have passed through your view.
If you have a screenshot, I can indicate where the stairs should be on the minimap. Thanks again!

Bug Report: Game appears to crash if you attack the starting stairs (Windows).
